Does it seem like everyone is a hypocrite? They might be but you are too. you can't tell because of cognitive dissonance and self-delusion. Don't worry everyone suffers from cognitive dissonance occasionally. Today will look at cognitive dissonance and general hypocrisy. psychology has done many studies on cognitive dissonance in order to find why people seem to be such hypocrites. what it comes down to is that we are protecting our own self-images sometimes called self-concepts. This educational video is a dive into the psychology studies on self-delusions, bias, and cognitive dissonance.
many of the studies talked about today were conducted by Leon Festinger.
