An Amateur's Guide to Moomin (Part 1)

In what is by far my most ambitious project, I have spent the past year reading, watching, and researching the beloved Moomin series. In that time, the series has had its series of ups and downs as it begins to gain an audience in the United States, which begs the questions: What has made this nearly 75-year-old series so pervasive? What has made its fans so loyal to the series? And what has made it become so popular in certain communities after remaining so obscure? Join me as I explore the history of the series and its author, Tove Jansson, to find out what we can learn from these peaceful family of trolls.
