RC Dakar: Stage 1

Realistic RC models of race trucks that took part in the famous Dakar Rally racing in loose sand - you'll see models of many famous vehicles including Kamaz, Ginaf, Iveco, Tatra, Liaz, MAN and Perlini.

This race was organized by a local RC club on a beautiful beach in very hot weather. The event lasted for the whole day, the trucks had to cope with many stages in the sand and surrounding forest.
Of course, reliability was the primary key to win this event. Many trucks had to be repaired after each stage.

This video shows the first stage, where the trucks run through the course one at a time.

Some of the trucks got stuck and had to be rescued.
Rescuing has exact rules - e.g. digging sand is only allowed with a realistic showel, i.e. a tea spoon :) and drivers are not allowed to help the stuck truck by hands.
