Facebook live car crash: Maserati salesman livestreams 111 mph joyride, winds up dead - TomoNews

HIGHLANDS RANCH, COLORADO — Maserati car salesman Brandon Guy Gianopoulos was killed in a suspected high-speed car crash after a video of him joyriding was streamed live to his Facebook account.

Gianopoulos worked at Mike Ward Maserati and had access to a slew of high-end Maserati vehicles, reported the Denver Post, citing local law enforcement. On Friday night he took one of the dealership’s vehicles for a spin.

That same night, a soundless video was streamed on Facebook Live to Gianopolous’s account. The footage shows a Maserati speed dial going from 0 to 111 miles per hour in the space of around 20 seconds.

It’s unknown if the video factored into the accident, but police say reckless speeding did. At some point on Friday night, it’s believed the car crashed while Gianopolous was driving dangerously fast.

The following morning the vehicle car was spotted in a retention pond close to the Maserati dealership, reported CBS News. Gianopolous was found dead inside.

He was 24 years old and had just started working at the dealership in October, reported Heavy.com.
