A short documentary of Easter Holy Week Processions in Malaga Semana Santa.
An introduction of what is like to be in Malaga during this period of the year.
This event is called "Semana Santa" (Holy Week), people in Malaga, commemorate the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. It takes place in March/April every year and begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Resurrection Sunday.
In Malaga the "Cofradías" (brotherhoods) take to the streets the "Tronos" (floats) which are carried by the "Hombres de Trono" in procession.
Also in processions the "cofrades" and "devotos" who wear the penitencial clothes are the "Nazarenos".
This tradition originated in the 16th century.
