Coronavirus: Quebec set to unveil stricter COVID-19 lockdown rules | LIVE

Quebec is expected to announce tightened lockdown measures on Wednesday as the province reported 2,641 new cases and 47 deaths linked to the novel coronavirus.

Health authorities say 13 of those deaths occurred in the past 24 hours, while the others were added retroactively.

The caseload stands at 217,999 -- which accounts for more than one-third of Canada's COVID-19 infections -- while recoveries have topped 184,000. Since last March, the health crisis has claimed the lives of 8,488 Quebecers.
