The man, as usual, equipped himself to go hunting and went into the forest early in the morning. He wandered through the forest for a long time in search of prey and went far enough from home. Then in the bushes he heard some rustle, at first the man looked about, he really would not like to meet a large wild beast there. And then he heard a plaintive squeak. The elderly man carefully parted the branches to see who was making such sounds from there. He was very surprised when he saw in the bushes a small helpless wolf pup.
The man looked around, he was very careful and tried not to make unnecessary sounds. He understood that if there was a pup, then somewhere nearby there must be an adult wolf - his mother.
He listened for a long time and peered into the gaps between the trees, but there were no signs of the presence of other wolves. But the little wolf pup was very weak, he practically could not move on his own and looked pitifully at the elderly man with his small eyes, full of hope for salvation.
The man took pity on the poor baby, he picked him up, put him in his bosom and went home. The hunt was apparently canceled, because the wolf pup was very weak, and it was urgent to feed him, otherwise he might not survive.
The man brought the animal home, gave him milk to drink to his fill, after which the wolf pup curled up in the elderly man’s arms and sweetly fell asleep.
