This is an exercise to practice reading the treble clef (with the right hand) on your piano. Just play the music and read.
The melody is specially created to be adding new elements in a gradual way. It starts with only two notes and then starts building from there.
The melody is beautiful (if you like this type of music) and make some students cry.
You can also practice this with other instruments like flute, oboe, violin, guitar and even voice.
