When we look at the heroes and teams being slowly introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's obvious that there are certain huge cosmic villains on the horizon, like Kang. We might even see supernatural heroes, like Blade, Doctor Strange, and Moon Knight. But what about the low-powered heroes? We have the new Hawkeye, Daredevil, Captain America, Winter Soldier--maybe they will have their own villain to unite them. And we think that could be the Kingpin.

Kingpin was teased throughout the series and then finally showed up in the flesh in the season finale. The episode ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, Maya is seen pointing a gun at Kingpin, the camera pans up and a gunshot is heard.

There’s no way that this will end up meaning that Kingpin is dead. They wouldn’t bring back a fan favorite character just to immediately kill him off.

What almost certainly happened is that Kingpin was blinded similarly to when Maya shot him in the comics. We’ve pointed out in prior videos how poetic it will be for Kingpin to become blind just like his biggest adversary, Daredevil.

So it’s basically a guarantee that we’ll be seeing Kingpin again in the MCU, but the question is… where will he pop up next?

We know that the next big bad for the MCU, the next Thanos if you will, is Kang the Conqueror. We’ve already met one of his many variants in the Loki finale, and will see Kang as the antagonist of Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania.

The MCU’s next Infinity War and Endgame level event will very likely be a take on Marvel’s Secret Wars. Marvel Comics' most recent take on this story centered around the multiverse and featured characters from different Marvel universes crossing over with one another, something the MCU has of course started to do in projects like Loki, No Way Home, and Multiverse of Madness.

All that being said, we think that Marvel Studios may also be building a more grounded interconnected storyline between its many Disney Plus shows. So what’s going to bring all these shows and heroes together? Probably a common enemy. The biggest and baddest street level villain Marvel has to offer, the Kingpin.

Marvel may even have an Avengers-esque culmination series in the works that could feature their Disney Plus heroes such as Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye, She Hulk, Moon Knight, and more.

Let’s keep in mind that the MCU version of Kingpin seems to have super strength–he probably got his hands on some super soldier serum like the Flag Smashers did in Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Meaning that he can realistically be a physical threat to multiple super people at once.

Now in order for all of this to work we need to see that classic MCU setup process all leading toward the culmination event. We have to have a reason all of these heroes are teaming up to go after the Kingpin. We think that process may already be well underway.

Let’s start with Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the mysterious Power Broker. A villain who was handled quite similarly to how Kingpin was handled in Hawkeye. A villain who was pulling the strings behind the scenes and had the audience wondering and speculating who the character could be.

Now while it’s possible that Sharon Carter was indeed the Power Broker in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it was never exactly confirmed. Leaving the door open for the possibility that Sharon had a boss above her running the show, and that boss could have been–you guessed it, the Kingpin.

The cruel nature of the Power Broker character lines up way more with Kingpin than it does with Sharon Carter. And while Sharon may have veered off the path of the hero a bit during the blip–deep down she’s still good.

I think we could see Sharon join Cap and Bucky–along with a slew of other heroes–to take down her old boss. Sharon’s knowledge on the ins and outs of Kingpin’s operations would be a great asset to the team and could serve as a redemption arc for her character.
