An amber snail can transform into a real life zombie if it is infected by the parasitic worm, green-banded broodsac, Leucochloridium paradoxum. Once infected, the snail would lose its natural fear of sunlight, where the parasite would make the snail climbs on top of tree foliage and twitch violently to attract birds' attention. The worms do this because they require bird intestine in order to transform into adults. Where they can lay eggs and eventually make their way into the bird droppings.
