Having more, using less | Max Gunawan | TEDxGoldenGatePark
Entrepreneur Max Gunawan discusses his efficient design concept and the idea of "having more, using less."
Max is an Architect / Industrial Designer based in San Francisco, CA. He is the inventor of Lumio: A modern portable lighting system that can be transformed into multiple forms and functions.
As a designer, Max is inspired by modern forms, clean lines and designs with an unexpected twist. He founded deBox studio in 2013 with the mission to bring smartly designed objects and furniture that will help people live big in a small space. Lumio is the first product by deBox studio that explores the idea of multi-functionality in an object.
Prior to launching deBox studio, he worked for the GAP as an in-house Architecture Sr. Manager working on International flagship stores in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Toronto, Montreal and New York City.
Max grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia where he honed his love for good food at a very early age.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
