Artist's Problems: The Dark Side of Freelance Illustration

Working in freelance illustration isn't all sunshine and daisies, people. It's helpful to be honest about the problems artists face in their working lives. If you're considering a career in the creative industries, particularly as a solo entrepreneur or a freelancer, it's good to go into it with eyes open so you can be prepared practically and emotionally for the difficult aspects of life as a working illustrator or artist. These are some of the challenges I face on a regular basis, and a few of my thoughts on how to deal with them.
