Promising new drugs to treat disorders of the central nervous system
Autifony Therapeutics, which specialises in developing new drugs to treat serious disorders of the central nervous system, is developing a promising new drug with support of Innovate UK – part of UKRI. Autifony’s drug AUT00206 targets neurons in the brain that are important for cognitive function. Studies have shown that the ability of these neurons to regulate brain activity is degraded in people with schizophrenia. Here, ‘Rich’ talks about what it’s like to live with Schizophrenia and his experiences of existing medications.
