In this week’s video we’re checking out some absolute must do things while in Istanbul! If you’ve got a short time in Istanbul, this video is for you. You can’t miss these three things while in Istanbul!

We start off the video at the absolutely amazing Grand Bazaar! The Grand Bazaar has some of the best shopping you’ll find in Turkey. If you’re wanting to find Turkish lamps, rugs, or souvenirs, make your way here and be ready to haggle. The Grand Bazaar is one of the oldest and biggest covered markets in the world. You could spend all day here walking through the various areas and streets.

The next place we went is the famous Hagia Sofia. Hagia Sofia was once a church, then a mosque, and now it’s a museum. It’s one of the most beautiful buildings we’ve ever seen and you cannot miss it while in Istanbul. We ended up booking skip the line tickets which also included a tour.

Lastly, since it was just next door, we headed to the Basilica Cistern. All underground, this was once a huge storage area for water that was brought into the city. It’s very dark and full of amazing pillars. We went just before it closed thinking that we’d have it to ourselves, and unfortunately we were wrong. It’s really interesting to see but we found it too packed with other tourists at the time we visited.
