Exploring Microsoft's 2007 Windows touchscreen experience! Microsoft Origami 2.0 on VAIO UX UMPC

In this video, I'll demonstrate Microsoft's attempt to make small handheld computers running Vista more user-friendly - long before Windows 8, Windows 10 and Windows Phone were released.

Microsoft Origami was released in 2007 (for select computers running Vista) and was updated in 2008 to version 2.0, which seemingly works on more computers with Vista, including my Sony VAIO UX UMPC. The Origami pack contains 3 programs which make you more productive on a small computer with a touchscreen:

- Picture password: Log in by tapping elements of a picture instead of typing your password
- Origami Now: Quick access to calendar, notes and weather forecasts
- Origami Central: Touch-friendly web browser, RSS feed reader and media player.

All 3 are shown in this video.

This was originally free Microsoft software. However, as Microsoft removed it from its downloads page and most links to this software are broken, I've mirrored it on https://vaio-ux-plaza.arjanvlek.nl/2020/08/10/origami-experience-2-0-download-and-review-on-vaio-ux/

Feel free to download and install it yourself for free. **It does not work with XP! you must have a (UM)PC with either Vista or Windows 7 in order to run it.**
