Tsunami Testing at Oregon State University Wave Lab

Very short clip of a shallow water wave test.

Yesterday (21/7/2017), I got to visit the lab with the biggest wave basin in the US...a ten minute walk from my apartment. The researchers were trying to find out where you should run to if you're on an island and there's a tsunami coming. The context was that people on the islands during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami thought that running to the back of the island would be their safest bet.

This was at the O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR.
