The first production T-34s armed with an ATO-41 flamethrower (starting from 1943, an ATO-42 flamethrower was installed) and called TO-34, were manufactured at the Stalingrad Tractor Plant in January 1942 and sent to the South-Western Front on February 2.
In total, during the years of World War II, the plants of the People's Commissariat of the Tank Industry manufactured 1,172 TO-34 flamethrower tanks (including two prototypes assembled in Kharkov in September 1941) and 331 TO-34-85.
