The Lipan or Lépai-Ndé as they call themselves are a Apache (Athabaskan) speaking tribe that used to live west of the others. When they got horses from the Spaniards and the Pueblo Indians, they became the rulers of Central Texas. When their land was stolen, they asked for a reservation, but were ignored. Many joined the Mescalero, some went to other Apache Reservations or just lived between the new rulers of the land. I want to help to keep their cultural heritage alive.
