We wish we could say it was simple to explain the lineage of Volvo chassis designations. It used to be simple, but that's just not the case with these cars. We wish it was as easy as saying Volvo P1 existed, then came P2, and then P3 but it's...not. You see, P1 came in halfway between P2 and P3. And, before P2 there was P80….makes a lot of sense, right?

Not to worry, as Jacob Maller, our Marketing Coordinator and owner of at least six (semi-running) Volvos will explain. In this video, we feature the mighty Volvo XC90 V8, the Volvo S60R, the Volvo V70R, and the Volvo S60 2.5T–all of which fall within the P2 nomenclature.
