Press Conference: Update on SLC Police and UMED Incident

On September 13, 2017, Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski briefed reporters on the status of the Internal Affairs (IA) and Police Civilian Review Board (CRB) investigations regarding the actions of two Salt Lake City Police Department officers at the University of Utah Medical Center on July 26, 2017. During the update, findings of both investigations were provided.

Note: The announcement was NOT the final step in the process. The reports and findings of IA and the CRB will be sent to Chief Mike Brown, who will use them to help guide his decision as it relates to the employment status of the two officers involved.
