What happened to Tim Lincecum? What happened to Troy Tulowitzki? This "Rise and Fall of Player X" type rhetoric is overused. I made this video so that we could strictly remember Tim Lincecum highlights and Troy Tulowitzki highlights. Their careers were incredible regardless of trajectory.
Timmy and Tulo defined an era for the Giants and Rockies. Tulowitzki burst onto the scene during Rocktober 2007, playing part in a historical run to the Colorado Rockies World Series. By the way, Matt Holliday home plate. Enough said. 2008 and 2009 each resulted in a Tim Lincecum Cy Young award, which was earned on the back of the insanely wonky Tim Lincecum mechanics.
They each went on to have brief stints with different teams. We saw Blue Jays Tulo and Yankees Tulo, as well as the Tim Lincecum Angels. These weren't great times, so Tulowitzki and Lincecum will ultimately be remembered for their time with the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants respectively.
Some subjects covered in this Baseball Bits, a Foolish Baseball production, include the Tim Lincecum This is Sportscenter ad, with the classic Big Time Timmy Jim line, as well as the Tim Lincecum playoffs and Tim Lincecum World Series performances. We'll also discuss the Ryan Braun rookie of the year debacle. Only in passing will I address the Tim Lincecum decline, Tim Lincecum injuries, Troy Tulowitzki decline, and Troy Tulowitzki injuries. Those aren't the focus.
