This is a puzzle box I made for my girlfriend for christmas :). I transfered a black and white photo of us onto the wooden lid. I've burned the text "you've got my head spinning" in the side as a hint for her to open it.
When closed, the pins on one side fall into the holes on the other side, so that it cannot be opened. But when you spin it, the centrifugal force causes all the pins to move outwards and the lid can be removed.
