Joseph E. Stiglitz, "The Great Divide"

Stiglitz was awarded the Nobel Prize for economics in 2001 and was one of the authors of the 1995 Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. In this urgent call to address economic inequality, Stiglitz, now professor at Columbia University and co-chair of that university’s Committee on Global Thought, reprises a lecture that helped launch the Occupy movement, shows how inequality threatens prosperity, and outlines reforms that would promote opportunity, growth, and equality.
