Check out any fitness magazine or typical bodybuilding website and you'll inevitably come across ads for natural "growth hormone boosters" that promise rapid fat loss and muscle gains over night.

But do these "HGH boosters" work for improving body composition?

Although there are compounds out there that CAN increase growth hormone naturally, they still won't raise GH levels to a high enough degree (or over a long enough period) to noticeably impact fat loss or hypertrophy.

Simply "boosting growth hormone" in and of itself is NOT enough, and the real question you have to ask is "by how much" and "for how long".

Exogenous growth hormone use will increase hgh levels by around 300-600% over an extended period, and there are simply no over-the-counter supplements that can come anywhere close to this.

Here is some of the literature available for a few of the most popular "HGH boosters" out there. What you mostly find are either temporary spikes that fall back to baseline fairly quickly, or minimal to no effect. In some cases, supplementation actually lowers growth hormone levels.

It's possible that combining certain supplements along with natural growth hormone boosting methods like regular exercise, deep sleep, healthy body fat levels, fasting etc. might produce some modest overall health benefits, but in terms of actual fat loss or muscle growth, leave the "growth hormone supplements" on the shelf.

HGH releasers are just another supplement in a long list of over-hyped and over-priced products that promise you amazing results but fail to deliver.
