Playing with GOUACHE for the First Time (ShinHan Designers Gouache, Set of 24, REVIEW)

Playing with gouache; well, I didn't expect to be doing this as a watercolorist, but there are certainly some similarities.

ShinHan kindly sent me a set of 24 Designers Gouache paints, and I was instantly struck by their vibrancy, high pigment content, and the smoothness of application. In this video, I try them out at different consistencies, test how opaque they are, and play with them for a flat wash. You can see just how bright they are, and how effective they are at covering the paper. You do, however, need to learn how much water to add in order that they are paintable.

As artists, it is always fun to play with new products for the first time, and I feel that when time allows I would like to experiment with these paints a lot more, I was really impressed by them.
