'Trump derangement syndrome' has Australian media reporting facts as 'wild claims'

Sky news host Paul Murray says Trump derangement is at play in the Australian media as a shooting which occurred outside the White House today was reported by Channel 9 News as simply a “claim from the orange man”.

US President Donald Trump was giving a press briefing to the media when he was told he had to be removed for his safety.

Mr Trump was escorted from the podium and the White House was put into lockdown after shots were fired across the street near Lafayette square.

Minutes after the shooting, the president returned to the podium and said “there was an actual shooting and somebody’s been taken to the hospital … it seems the person was shot by secret service.”

Mr Murray said Channel Nine news reported the shooting as a “wild claim” from Donald Trump.

“The fact’s are clear, two people are in hospital, there is no need to pretend it is a claim from the orange man – it’s fact,” Mr Murray said.

“Trump derangement syndrome is just as bad in the Australian media as it is anywhere else.”
