13" MacBook Pro Battery Replacement - late 2013, mid 2014 - 4 1/2 MINUTE DIY VIDEO

This video shows how I changed my late 2013 13" MacBook Pro Retina Battery. I bought this generic battery from Amazon, it has been working well for me and is rated at 71.8 watt-hours. The full identifiers for the battery I used was A1493 New Laptop Battery for Apple A1502 ME864LL/A ME866LL/A; MacBook Pro 13" Retina Battery-Only for Late 2013, Mid 2014 Version [Li-Polymer 11.34V 71.8Wh]

Only attempt this procedure if you have the time and confidence to complete it. As with all DIY projects remember that you alone bear the risks and responsibility of the work. Make sure you order the correct battery for your device.

Check the device info from the Apple Menu / About this Mac and a window will appear with the type and date of your MacBook.

You should be careful to backup all your files, drain your old battery completely, and unplug the laptop before starting any work.

Please remember to use extreme caution removing the battery and do not puncture, heat, burn, tear, open or compress the battery.
