"We WILL LOSE The Next Election" Says MP Lord Ed Vaizey On Tory Party

The Conservative party is directing more resources into several Tory-held seats that they see as vulnerable in the next general election, including one with a 17,000-vote lead.

About 200 constituencies held by Conservative MPs are considered at risk and are getting extra support from party headquarters.

Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, held by Conservative MP John Penrose since 2005, is one such seat, even though Penrose won with a large majority in 2019.

It suggests that the Conservative party is taking a more defensive stance towards the election than they publicly admit, acknowledging that previously safe seats with big leads are now under threat.

The Tories have officially focused on defending their 80 most marginal seats and aiming to win 20 target seats from the opposition.
