This video is about phrasing, the one thing that is going to make your playing memorable.

To work on phrasing we will be improvising over a one note backing track. A single note in itself doesn't mean anything because it has no context, but in relation to something else, it becomes something.

The single note backing track allows us to play any note against it because there is no harmonic clash possible.

With this in mind we can concentrate in the rhythmic subdivision aspect of phrasing. In second place we will focus in playing on the same area of the fretboard.

The third concept we will use is the question and answer style of phrasing. Always remembering that improvisation is about storytelling.
