Is Fusion 360 Unable to Handle Large Assemblies? - Marble Machine X #31
Three weeks ago i ran into a perfomance wall in the Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD Software. It seemed completely unable to handle my Marble Machine X Project. During the last three weeks i have turned every stone and found a workaround that, so far, seems to let me finish this project inside Fusion 360. I have seen that there is a lot of Fusion 360 users with the same problem out there, i hope my workaround can help others. Fusion is a joy to work with but i wasnt expecting this surprise bottleneck. I will produce a short and concise tutorial on how to perform this workaround in a few days, for you other 360 users with the same issues. I am also sending friendly critique to the Fusion 360 marketing team for marketing fusion with large assemblies without really mentioning these issues. For almost any normal sized project, your component count will not hit this wall. But as soon you start to CAD with higher definition and including more and more parts these issues start to occur. Lets say from around 1000 Components. This is not a Graphics Processor related problem. So, the specific situation i am discussing here is for projects like the Marble Machine X, that has lots of components.
Thanks alot to Jeff Strater, Software architect Fusion 360 for assisting with finding the workaround. Thanks also to Nathan Skalsky from CNC Routerparts for arranging the meeting with Jeff and being an invaluable force in the Marble Machine X Development team!

Anyway, seems i am almost out on the other side now!
When the Marble Machine X is fully designed, i want to take in some Inventor competence in the project and have drawings made in Inventor from someone skilled at that. AS i mentioned before, i probably need to build a backup Marble Machine X and having the whole project properly compiled by real engineers will be crucial if i am going to be able to ask someone build the backup copies for me.
Enjoy! Martin

Why do we accept support in this way?
I, Martin, can already sustain myself 100% doing what I love to do. If you want to support artists/organisations who have not yet reached that privileged position, please consider supporting other artists/organisations who need the support more. With that said, I have too many ideas and too little time and with your support I can get more help from people around me to execute the ideas better and bring them out in the world faster.
