Dog Bite While Biking

Not a direct view of the bite, unfortunately.

As I looked down and tried to lift my leg away it was obvious that this dog is experienced at biting people as he rotated his head right before the bite so that he could grab me, and then he tried to hold on and pull me off. Fortunately, he couldn't hold his grip as I tried to tear my leg away.

Then he went after my wife but I think my screaming, the distance, and her speed were enough to stop him from carrying through. Fortunately.

The weird thing is the owner was recording it all on her cellphone while she was half-heartedly yelling for the dog to stop.

The dog was doing that growling, slavering sound - when you know he's not just doing it for the chase and he legitimately wants to hurt you.

Since I did not go to the hospital and get a medical report the police said that they could not pursue any actions, and Dog Control told me the same; though out of courtesy Dog Control did go to the person's house to confront them about this.

I also was bitten by this dog again, and some of my biking acquaintances have been bitten by it while others have narrowly escaped over the years.

Dog Control also was nice enough to do the same the second time this dog bit me - talk to the owner, not that it helped.

The dog is dangerous, but I don't blame the dog - it is the owner's fault.
