The SVS 1000 Pro series subs are available in a ported (PB-1000 Pro) or sealed (SB-1000 Pro) design. The ported version plays a little lower and might be the best choice if you plan to build a home theater around it. The sealed version is a little tighter, punchier, and could be a little better for music, but that is subjective and dependent upon the room it's in. The point is, SVS makes subs for everyone.

The 1000 Pro series really shines by being highly customizable. You can tweak the sound quite effectively using the sub's rear-panel control interface, but for getting it just about perfect you can dive into the SVS app. The app connects with the sub's DSP to give you more subtle adjustments, plus helps you tune the sub to the room it lives in.
