Nikhil is a Mumbai-based writer, producer, storyteller, teacher, entrepreneur, and youth mental health advocate. He is the co-founder and CEO of a youth media organization called Yuvaa, which creates socially conscious entertainment and purpose-driven solutions to empower young Indians. He also serves on the Global Advisory Board of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's community, Goalkeepers, and is the Festival Creative Director of the India Film Project.
In his talk, he speaks about the prevailing issues of gender stereotypes, inequalities, and toxic masculinity.
This talk was given at the TEDxJMC event organized on the 27th of February 2021 in a virtual format.

Nikhil's work has been around several issues, some of them being sex education, LGBTQ+ rights, including the 6 Pack Band, India's first transgender pop group, which won the Cannes Grand Prix Glass Lion Award in 2016. He has also led creative teams at Yash Raj Films, Viacom18 Digital, MTV India, and Hindustan Times but has found the most joy as a professor and has been teaching journalism students at Jai Hind College, Mumbai for the past seven years. He is also in the process of writing a book that tries to take the toxic out of masculinity, and it is set to be published by Penguin India in late 2021.
