At launch, the New Kardian will be equipped with an innovative engine in South America: a 1.0 L turbo 3-cylinder engine with 125 hp and 220 Nm of torque, with direct injection associated with an automatic transmission with dual clutch EDC.

The design of the body of the New Renault Kardian fuses sculpted lines and more rounded shapes, respecting the references of the new visual identity of the Renault brand. Its optimized proportions thanks to the 2.60 meter wheelbase give the New Kardian a compact silhouette. The characteristic features of the SUVs can be immediately identified in the roof bars, in the sculpted horizontal hood or even in the bumper reinforced by the painted crankcase protectors. At the rear, the curved roof and sloping rear glass give dynamism to the silhouette, while the more accentuated shoulders give the vehicle a more robust feel.
With a length of 4.12 m (1.75 m width and 1.54 m height), the New Renault Kardian is positioned in the B segment. These dimensions make it the ideal model for use in the city, while the large wheels (17 inches), the generous wheelbase (2.60 m) and their respective approach and departure angles of 20° and 36°, respectively, make it a versatile vehicle suitable for all types of vehicles. journeys.

This longer wheelbase – the best in the category – also allows internal space to be maximized, which mainly benefits rear occupants. The trunk volume of the New Renault Kardian is another great point of its versatility, with 358 dm3 VDA (410 liters).
Based on the rhombus format, the front grille of the New Renault Kardian displays designs in a “diamond” format, thanks to several small rhombuses with a 3D effect, whose reflections are accentuated by the black color with Black Piano finishes on the back.

The Renault Kardian's higher console gives the model's cabin an SUV look. This console has a capacity of 8 liters for storage of objects – the best in the segment – and integrates an armrest and 4 USB inputs (2 for the front and 2 for rear passengers). The New Renault Kardian will be marketed from launch in Brazil with a new 1-liter turbo 3-cylinder engine with direct injection, which delivers 125 hp (92 kW) for a torque of 220 Nm. It will be associated with an automatic transmission with EDC double clutch, and thus be able to provide much more driving pleasure.

In addition to fuel savings thanks to the Stop & Start system, this mechanical assembly provides excellent reactivity, which provides true pleasure when driving daily, with reduced consumption and CO2 emissions. The 220 Nm torque ensures efficient driving and energy savings.

As well as several European models of the brand, the New Renault Kardian combines a 1.0 turbo 3-cylinder engine with a dual-clutch EDC transmission. This system speeds up the gear change without interruption in torque, thanks to the simultaneous work of the two clutches, which favors comfort and reactivity when driving. Shifts can also be made manually using the paddle shift levers, located behind the steering wheel. In addition, this transmission has double wet clutch technology, which constitutes a true competitive advantage in Latin American countries, since this technology optimizes the cooling of the clutches and increases their useful life. With the technical name DW23, this change will have its global launch and in the Latin American markets.
