Tropical Storm Andres forms in the Eastern Pacific

Tropical Storm Andres has narrowly made it as the earliest named storm in the Eastern Pacific record books, and the earliest storm in the basin by calendar day since at least 1883, when a tropical cyclone of unknown strength struck Mexico on May 1st.

Andres is going to be a short lived system and will remain at sea, producing up to 18 inches of rain near its location. However, with Andres over 300 miles from land, rainfall totals from the storm in populated areas will be low.
