Full Professor from the Department of Pathology of Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo. He was a member of the Scientific Committee of the Harvard University School of Public Health, USA (2012) and member of the Health Organization Air Quality Committee (2005). He concentrates his research activities in the areas of Pathological Anatomy, Pulmonary Physiopathology, Respiratory Diseases and Environmental Health and Applied Ecology. Commentator of the Jornal da Cultura, on TV Cultura. Current Director of the Instituto de Estudos Avançados da USP.
