Nitrous in 20 different racing games (NFS Underground, Most Wanted, The Crew and more)

Nitrous boost has been a common feature in arcade racing games ever since the days of Need for Speed Underground and it has now been included in dozens of different games already. Here you can see what it looks like in 20 different racing games, featuring NFS Underground, Most Wanted, Carbon, ProStreet, The Crew, Flatout and more. In most games I am showing the nitrous being used both at low speed and when already going fast. I also included a few crashes and flips again, since people enjoyed those in my previous compilations. I spent about a week on this video and I am happy with how it turned out, so I hope you will guys will like it as well. :)

Underground 1 did not only introduce a lot of JDM cars and visual customization options to the Need for Speed franchise but also the nitrous boost feature, which has since then appeared in pretty much every NFS game.

In Underground 1 you only had a limited amount of nitrous per race, which would not recharge. In Underground 2 you could refill your nitrous with style actions like near misses. The nitrous bar could be filled up twice, which leads to the more powerful boost that you can see in the video.

In NFS Most Wanted, Carbon, Undercover and several others the nitrous will simply refill over time.

In NFS ProStreet and Heat you only have a certain number of nitrous bottles and you can only use the whole bottle at once. In Heat you can choose between equipping several small bottles or one big one (which you can see in the video).

In NFS World nitrous is one of several powerups that you can use and you also get a nitrous boost for doing a perfect launch. In NFS Payback the nitrous activates with a short delay.

Flatout has boost in all 4 main games and you can refill it by smashing objects or hitting opponents.

Dirt is not a franchise where you would expect to see boost but you can find it in the spinoff title Dirt Showdown.

In The Crew 2 you can use a set of legendary performance parts to double the amount of nitrous that you can carry and since the last major update the game also has "air nitrous", which allows the nitrous to be effective during jumps.

There are several other games and franchises with nitrous, for example NFS The Run, Burnout, MotorStorm, Juiced and Street Racing Syndicate, so maybe I will do another nitrous compilation in the future when I have 30 or 40 different games with it.
