Amitabha Buddha & His Pure Land: Why They Really Exist (A Must Watch)

In the Mahayana Buddhist cosmology Buddha described about many different worlds in the Universe, not only many different worlds but also many different universes (multiverse).

In recent years scientists have also found proof of the existence of multiverse.

If Buddha nature is within all beings surely there are also many different Buddhas and enlightened beings in different worlds.

In Mahayana Sutras we often see Buddha mentioned many other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who are in different worlds teaching dharma.

Each Buddha also has His own Pure Land - think of the Pure Land as the manifestation/creation through Buddha's perfect consciousness (which encompass their infinite perfect merits and great vows).

In the Pure Land Sutras, Sakyamuni Buddha told us that to the west of this world, ten trillion buddhalands away (very very far away), there's a land called Ultimate Bliss and there's a Buddha called Amitabha who is right now teaching Dharma.

In the Infinite Life Sutra, Sakyamuni Buddha also told us about the past life of Amitabha before he realized buddhahood. In eons eons of years ago (an indefinitely long period of time ago), Amitabha was a Bodhisattva called Dharmakara who was once a king and gave up his kingdom to pursue ultimate enlightenment.

He studied under the guidance of World Sovereign King Buddha and he vowed to create the best Pure Land for all beings to reside in, after meditating for five eons he succeeded and created the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Why is the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss so special? First, it's a land with all bliss and no suffering. Beings who gain rebirth there will obtain infinite life and realise Buddhahood quickly - then one can freely travel to all different worlds to teach dharma (to be like a Buddha).

Also it's the easiest method for any ordinary being to gain rebirth to the Pure Land - all one needs is to chant the name of Amitabha Buddha repeatedly and at the time of death Amitabha Buddha will come to receive us.

It's not just some made-up stories and fantasies (Buddha has no reason to lie to us). Many beings have gained rebirth to the Pure Land from the ancient time until now through this method.
So if one wants to liberate from all sufferings in life in one lifetime, then this is the way to go.
