Skin bleaching is a process through which one tries to lighten a dark skin tone to make the skin appear clearer and fairer. This is a widespread practice among women who have darker skin. Creams for skin bleaching have become a rage in the beauty industry; and, just like any other trend, there are numerous misconceptions and myths related to it.

One of the most popular myths about skin bleaching is that all skin lightening products are harmful.  Though it is true that a lot of skin whitening creams have side effects and can harm the skin, the same can be said about all other beauty products. Excessive and improper use of these creams are what cause allergies and injuries to the skin. They are not likely to be harmful if used properly; and one way of doing that is to follow the instructions given with the product.

 

DON’T sunbathe with skin bleaching cream on.

It is never okay to sunbathe after applying a skin lightening product. Sun exposure has many side effects, even more dangerous with skin whitening creams on. Skin bleaching products destroy the black pigment found in the top layer of the skin. When the dermis layer is exposed to harsh weather, including the sun’s rays, you will increase your risk of developing skin cancer.
