Tove Jansson’s The Moomins and the Great Flood was published in 1945. It was no immediate success, but this first Moomin story has since become a classic. It takes you on an exciting adventure in the midst of a natural disaster and introduces the Moomin family and Sniff, among many others. In this video, Boel Westin, Tove Jansson’s biographer, and professor emeritus sheds light on some of the lessons of the book, like the importance of a proper purse.
