Gianni O'Connor: Millionaire from tech, the man behind the Soulja Boy game console W/ Lin Mei

Tech mogul Gianni O’Connor sits down with Lin to talk on becoming a millionaire from tech and how he created the seemingly controversial Soulja Boy console in the latest instalment of ‘Lin Mei Talks’; as Lin continues to help prove sports, music and the entertainment industry in general are not the only options we have to make it out of the hood or be successful. This brand new series will see Lin Mei shine a light on successful people who come from humble beginnings but found their success outside of the entertainment industry.

Gianni O’Connor went to university for banking but after running through his student loan realised he needed to find a way to make money so instead of sticking to his part time retail job he started learning how to code because he saw there was a lot of money in it. This would lead Gianni to becoming who he is today

As well as touching on how he mad the link with Soulja Boy, the tech mogul spoke on the culture in America and some of the differences between the UK and and American culture, claiming one might be better than the other for networking in particular mostly due to overall population more than anything. Claiming 90% of his console are sold in America.

This interview definitely sees some gems being dropped as we hear more on how the route to success is largely linked to recruitment, as it’s mentioned that the fastest way to scale your business is to put your ego aside and recruit the best people to get the job done, similar to what Steven Bartlett said in his interview - simple concept but not as easy to implement.

Gianni also talks on his other current ventures and debunks some of the misconceptions with regards to some of the backlash online aimed at the console and further details how it works and what why there are similar looking versions of the console that aren’t necessarily the same product.
