ENTAMOEBA HISTOLYTICA PATHOGENICITY
Microscopic illustration of amebiasis demonstrates that both trophozoites and cysts are present in the lumen of the intestine. Findings of proctoscopy are elaborated respectively. Following this, amebic liver abscess is discussed. Furthermore, immune response to amebiasis comes under consideration. Almost 2-6 weeks are required for the development of symptomatic amebic colitis after the ingestion of E. histolytica cysts. Other extraintestinal sites involved in the infection are genitourinary tract, painful genital ulcers, and cerebral involvement.

AMEBIASIS TREATMENT
To carry out the treatment, it is necessary to diagnose the respective ailment. So, for laboratory diagnosis of amebiasis, stool examinations, serologic tests, and noninvasive imaging of liver is advised. Sigmoidoscopy with biopsy is also discussed. Radiographic studies discussed over here include radiographic barium studies, ultrasonography, CT and MRI. Coming towards the treatment modality, drugs such as luminal agent, metronidazole, tinidazole are prescribed, each responsible for a specific stage and condition.
