GoPro Hero 8 4K Cinematic (Everything was shot on Hypersmooth 2.0)
Gopro hero 8
This is the GoPro Hero 8 4K video test. I just got mine yesterday morning. Then I went out and did a little get straight away. This year, the selling point of the Hero 8 is the HyperSmooth 2.0. And that’s all I care about. And to be honest, it works really well. It feels like little bit more stable than the OSMO Action (No proper test). But unfortunately the HyperSmooth has got a lot of limitations, first you can’t use it with lowlight mode. Second, you can’t shoot in 50p or 60p. Third, you can’t have the linear mode aswel when using HyperSmooth. Those three features you can set on your OSMO Action and still get the Rocksteady turn on no problem. I hope GoPro can fix that in the future firmware.
But over all, its a great little camera. Image quality looks pretty similar to the last year model. But if you have the right mode. The HyperSmooth 2.0 actually working really well
Pros and Cons
Pros
- HyperSmooth 2.0 just like a gimbal
- Easy to set up
Cons
- Small screen
- HyperSmooth doesn’t work in Slowmo
- HyperSmooth doesn’t have linear
- Doesn’t have dual screen (It’s optional attachment)
- More expensive than OSMO Action
- Screen quality drops down to like 144p while recording
