दुनिया के विभिन्न देशों में 5जी सर्विसेज को लांच करने को लेकर तैयारियां जोर-शोर से चल रही हैं। भारत भी दुनिया के तमाम देशों के साथ ही 5जी सर्विसेज को लांच करने की प्रतिबद्धता कई मौकों पर दोहरा चुका है। यही वजह है कि दूरसंचार विभाग तमाम व्यस्तताओं के बावजूद इस साल दिसंबर तक हर हाल में स्पेक्ट्रम की नीलामी के लिए हरसंभव प्रयास कर रहा है।

इससे संबंधित एक अधिकारी ने न्यूज एजेंसी पीटीआइ को बताया कि डिजिटल कम्युनिकेशन कमीशन (डीसीसी) की अगले सप्ताह बैठक होनी है। दूरसंचार विभाग में निर्णय लेने वाली शीर्ष संस्था की बैठक में स्पेक्ट्रम की कीमतों को लेकर अंतिम फैसला किया जाएगा। इस बात का अनुमान है कि समिति ट्राई द्वारा स्पेक्ट्रम के बेस प्राइस को लेकर की गयी सिफारिश के आधार पर ही नीलामी प्रक्रिया को आगे बढ़ाएगी।
