Tree by tree, new code! | Miodrag - Miki Vujovic | TEDxPodgorica

Podgorica is the capital of Montenegro. It was known as a green city for decades. However, in the last 30 years, it has lost a huge number of trees due to many summer fires. Several large forest parks have almost disappeared, and only from 2006 to 2012 Montenegro was left without 26 km2 of forest.

The organization "KOD" started the initiative of planting 100 thousand trees in order to fight back against this real issue in the Mediterranean country with specifically hot summers.

Tree by tree, a new code was built. Code of creating a community that cares about environment and building up consciousness by planting trees. Miki is coming from the KOD Organization - which is a movement that gathers free individuals who fight for social rights. They are inspired by the idea of freedom. As they like to say: "There is no leader, our only leader is an example." This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
