Review of my first year of sports trading on Betfair for a living

Here is a review of my first year of Betfair trading, which didn't include Bet Angel. That came later.

Though to be completely honest, I started by arbing. This is similar to what you see when matched betting in modern markets.

It was an era on the Betfair betting exchange where sports trading was unknown, where gambling or trading sports for a living was deeply scorned upon (no change there then) and dropping out of a well-paid job to do it was just plain crazy. Even Bet Angel didn't exist at that point, that was still to come.

My motivation to become a professional Betfair trader wasn't because of desperation but a desire to do some that somebody hadn't done before and to do something special.
