Siegfried Zielinski & Boris Groys. Thinking Media and the Man-Machine Relation. 2014

Zielinski interviews Groys about his new book, "Under Suspicion: A Phenomenology of Media." Siegfried Zielinski has published more than a dozen books and far over 150 essays, primarily in the areas of media history and theory including, Deep Time Relations of Arts, Sciences and Technologies; vol. 1 has been edited with Silvia Wagnermaier (2005), vol. 2 with David Link (2006) and vol. 3ff. with Eckhard Fuerlus (2008). His most recent monographic book in English is entitled Deep Time of the Media -- Towards an Archaeology of Hearing and Seeing by Technical Means, which was published by MIT Press (Cambridge MA, 2006), Audiovisions -- Cinema and Television as Entr'actes in History (Amsterdam University Press, 1999).

Amongst others, Siegfried Zielinski was elected a member of the European Film Academy (EFA), the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Arts (Akademie der Künste), and the Magic Lantern Society of Great Britain.

Boris Efimovich Groys (born 19 March 1947) is an art critic, media theorist, and philosopher. He is currently a Global Distinguished Professor of Russian and Slavic Studies at New York University and Senior Research Fellow at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design in Karlsruhe, Germany. He has been a professor of Aesthetics, Art History, and Media Theory at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design/Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe and an internationally acclaimed Professor at a number of universities in the United States and Europe, including the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Southern California and the Courtauld Institute of Art London.
