New information released on the disappearance of Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen

Fort Hood authorities have identified the two suspects in Spc. Vanessa Guillen's disappearance.

Authorities identified one suspect as 20-year-old Spc. Aaron David Robinson. They said Robinson killed himself as officers moved in to arrest him late Tuesday night.

The other suspect is Cecily Aguilar. She's been charged with one count of conspiracy to tamper with evidence, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office Western District of Texas.

Authorities said Robinson was from Calumet City, Ill. and joined the Army in October 2017 as a combat engineer. Robinson was not Guillen's supervisor nor in her chain of command, according to officials.

According to investigators, Robinson told Aguilar that he killed Guillen by striking her in the head with a hammer multiple times on Fort Hood on April 22. Two witnesses said they saw Robinson pulling a large "tough box" with wheels coming out of the arms room where Robinson worked. The two witnesses said they saw Robinson load the box into his vehicle and drive away, according to the affidavit.

Robinson then allegedly got help from Aguilar to dispose of the body, which included mutilating and attempting to burn it. When the body didn't burn completely, they put the remain in three separate holes and covered up the remains.
