PHILIPPINES - Foreigners Experience Easter Sunday & Holy Week, Garin Farm Iloilo

Today we celebrate the last day of holy week as foreigners in the philippines by doing a pilgrimage on easter sunday at garin farm iloilo city.

So far good friday has been a phenomenal experience so we new that celebrating easter sunday would be also as amazing and complete our holy week experience.

We started the day by visiting garin farm which has a amazing pilgrimage trail which was perfect for the occasion of easter sunday. Like our trip to pilgrimage island in hundred islands we visited all the stations which tell the story of christ in order starting from the crucifixion and ending at jesus christs leaving the cave by rolling a big rock.

There was many people here to pay there respects and pray on this last day of holy week in the philippines and we also done the same. It was around 100 steps to the top of the pilgrimage and to the grand finale which was entering heaven. Heaven was a bright white area filled with angel statues with the white gates and many many representations in the bible.

This was the perfect day to finish holy week and we can honestly say it was a very humbling experience of real culture in the philippines and we got a real sense of how strong religion is here as foreigners. iloilo city was the perfect place to start this holy week experience because its a relitivly quiet city and would give us the platform to start slowly before trying holy week in more busy areas in the future.
