Review Yuneec Breeze flying camera

Disclosure: I received a free sample for review.

Bottom LIne right now (10-22-2017) is to avoid this drone entirely and look at the DJI Spark instead.

With experience flying many larger quadcopters including the DJI Phantom 1, 2 and 3 as well as the Xiro Xplorer, I was looking forward to flying the Breeze. Though it is small it flies very well for it's intended purpose. It is stable, it locks onto satellites very quickly and it locks onto a lot of satellites. But the WiFi connection to your smartphone limits it's flying distance and altitude.

You can also fly this indoors as it has an Indoor Positioning System that helps the Breeze maintain stability and position inside in spite of the lack of GPS when inside.

Photo and Video quality is pretty good but does fall short of higher end UAV's cameras. But it doesn't have the high price tag either.

Fly time is only about 12 minutes. Yuneec does include two batteries, but you'll want more.

Since my video review was made I've had several instances of the Breeze continuing fly even though I completely lost any ability to control it for reasons unknown. Ultimately the Breeze decided to rapidly descend and land in a lake and sink even though I did not even have my hands on the controls at the time. It should have stopped and simply hovered as soon as I took my hands off the controls, but it decided to fly itself into the water instead.

I'd avoid this drone entirely and look elsewhere., The DJI Spark is probably the best low cost drone on the market right now.
